Sails on the Potomac/48th ALX Jazz Fest

The ALX Jazz Fest will celebrate its 48th annual event as part of the Sails on the Potomac series of activities commemorating the USA’s 250th anniversary. As part of this 3-day festival, the ALX Jazz Fest will expand its programming to celebrate Alexandria’s musical past, present, and future. Kicking off with an opening ceremony on Friday June 12th at 12pm, Alexandria will experience 3 days of music with a distinct theme each day: Americana Roots (Friday 6/12), American Jazz and Poetry (Saturday 6/13), and Future Sounds of America (Sunday 6/14).

Event Details:With centuries of history and hospitality to its credit, Sail Virginia 2026 Affiliate Harbor Alexandria offers an array of historic and cultural attractions. As the United States commemorates the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, Sails on the Potomac will highlight Alexandria’s role in helping construct the foundation of the revolution. From the creation of the Fairfax Resolves to being the hometown of George Washington, Alexandria played a unique role in the birth of our new nation and its impact on today. Join us as we commemorate America’s Story in Alexandria with music, family activities, exhibits, tours, public art, educational programs, and more! Sails on the Potomac will host the tall ships GAZELA, KALMAR NYCKEL, PROVIDENCE, and SULTANA as part of this event.
