    Due to an electrical problem, City office telephones are experiencing intermittent outages and the Alexandria Courthouse (located at 520 King St.) will be closed on Friday, May 29, until further notice.  Emergency 911 service is not affected.  Check back here to see if the Courthouse will reopen before the end of the day.  For case or schedule information, call the clerk of the applicable court once the Courthouse reopens today or on Monday.

    Event Details:Actor David Keltz recreates Edgar Allen Poe's 1849 visit to Virginia, with an eerily authentic performance in the 19th-century Lecture Hall of the Lyceum. One of America's best-loved authors comes to life as Mr. Keltz recites from Poe's classic workes, including "The Raven" and "El Dorado." As Poe, David Keltz has been lauded by the Poe House and Museum in Baltimore, The Poe Museum in Richmond, and the Poe National Historic Site in Philadelphia. Join us for an unforgettable Halloween evening with America's earliest master of the macabre!!
