Lecture-What a Photograph Tells Us

Title:Lecture-What a Photograph Tells Us
Date & Time:Wed Oct 26, 2016 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Location:Lyceum
201 S. Washington St.
Event Details:Learn how Charles Joyce traced the history of Francis Snow’s historical photograph of United States Colored Troops at L’Ouverture Hospital in Alexandria. Images of USCT soldiers are uncommon and, remarkably, each man is identified on the back of this particular albumen photograph. The names provide an unusual opportunity to determine what happened to the men after the Civil War.
