Stormwater Utility Fee Open House

The City will host an open house to answer questions about the Stormwater Utility Fee and receive feedback from the public about a program that will allow non-residential property owners to generate ‘credits’ to reduce the fee.
Title:Stormwater Utility Fee Open House
Date & Time:Thursday, October 12, 2017 • 7-9 p.m.
Location:City Hall, Sister Cities Room 1101, 301 King St. (Map This)
The Sister Cities conference rooms are on the first floor of City Hall, just off the Vola Lawson Lobby on the north side of City Hall (Cameron St).
Event Details:The City adopted a Stormwater Utility Fee earlier this year to provide a dedicated funding source to address the increasing costs of recent state and federal Chesapeake Bay protection mandates. The fee is directly linked to a property’s impervious areas, which are hard surfaces such as rooftops, parking areas, and sidewalks, making it a more equitable way to fund stormwater management.

Starting May 2018, all property owners will see the new Stormwater Utility Fee included as a line item on their real estate bill. Visit www.alexandriava.gov/Stormwater for more information.
