Event Details:Join the Alexandria Community Remembrance Project (ACRP), for a lecture with Dr. LaNitra Berger on artist Irma Stern and her complex life and work. South African artist Irma Stern is one of the nation’s most controversial modern figures, and Dr. Berger’s new book explores how Stern became South Africa’s most prolific painter of black, Jewish, and coloured (mixed-race) life while maintaining a neutral position on apartheid. Following the lecture there will be discussion with Rabbi David Spinrad, a member of the ACRP Steering Committee.?
