Event Details:You are invited to a poetry reading celebrating the rich diversity which makes-up our community. Wendi R. Kaplan, Poet Laureate, City of Alexandria will help participants understand that each individual is unique, and will recognize our individual differences. This event will be held on Friday, June 8 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron St. Light refreshments. Formal program begins at 7 p.m.

The evening’s conversation and poetry may be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. Adult material may be covered.

The Poet Laureate and literary programs are part of the Office of the Arts, a division of the Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities.
