    The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Alexandria area for Thursday, March 5, 2015, until 9 p.m. A snow emergency has been declared for the City of Alexandria, and enforcement of snow emergency routes began at 7 a.m. City offices and facilities are closed for March 5.  Emergency personnel should report as scheduled.

    Event Details:Tours of the Shuter’s Hill excavation conducted by City archaeologists and George Washington University field school students. The site includes evidence of an 18th century plantation and an 1850s estate that was later occupied by Union troops. Located on the grounds of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. Reservations required.
