VIRTUAL: Seeing Time: Artist Talk of an Abstract Concept

Explore artists whose work makes time visible, changing how we see and understand it. Time is often recognized as a fourth dimension, after length, width, and height. It is an independent direction, through which we constantly move forward. As a society, we have shared ways of measuring and talking about time – universally accepted standards based on rotations of the earth around the sun and broken down into units of years, months, weeks, days, hours, and minutes. But human beings’ perceptions of time can also be deeply personal and context-dependent, leading us to experience the measurable ticking of the clock in subjective ways. This panel discussion, featuring Angela Adams, Alicia Eggert, and Sandy Williams IV, will explore artists whose work contemplates the present moment, makes time visible, and shapes the way we perceive and understand different aspects of time, from the immediate to the infinite.
