|Event Details:||Join the Alexandria-Caen Sister City Committee for a Valentine’s Day event celebrating the magic of love! Learn how to make unexpected cocktails and delicious confections for the perfect pairings to impress your friends and loved ones. Featuring expert mixologist Mick Perrigo and renowned DC Pastry Chef Annie Clemmons, this special evening will feature a demonstration of three superbly crafted mixed drinks paired with two delicious desserts. Plan to be entertained and surprised for an evening of unique flavors, aromas and a touch of magic. Tickets are $49 and $39 for guests over 65 years old at AlexandriaVA.gov/Shop. Annie Clemmons (www.chapmansdc.com) considers herself lucky to have tenured at some of this country’s finest 4-star restaurants (Campanile Los Angeles, St. Regis Los Angeles, Miro at the Ritz-Carlton, Santa Barbara, Bourbon Steak at the Four Seasons Washington, D.C.), and helped to earn 2 Michelin rosettes at Cyrus of Healdsburg, California. Her 14-year old daughter is the boss, though. Mick Perrigo (www.Tinctureco.com) – if you’ve had a great craft cocktail in Washington, chances are Mick Perrigo had something to do with it. With tenures at The Passenger, Columbia Room, The Left Door, and Hook Hall, It’s no wonder he’s been called the “Babe Ruth of the D.C. cocktail scene.” He likens his creative process to a “complex process of flavor discovery that is a bit like composing a song.”|
