Event Details:After construction workers discovered the remains of a 19th century African American woman laid to rest in an iron coffin, historians and scientists had many questions. Unfortunately, dead women tell no tales…or do they?
On Saturday, May 4, at 2 p.m., learn more about this mystery by attending a free screening of the PBS documentary, “Secrets of the Dead: The Woman in the Iron Coffin,” at The Lyceum (201 S. Washington St.), The free screening, presented by the City’s Black History Museum, will be followed by a lecture from forensic anthropologist Dr. Douglas Owsley of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History.
