National Night Out

The City of Alexandria invites residents to take part in National Night Out 2025, a nationwide event that encourages community engagement, public safety partnerships, and crime prevention through neighborhood unity. Share your photos and videos on social media using the hashtag #ALXNNO25 and tag the Alexandria Police Department.

Event Details:On Tuesday, August 5, communities throughout Alexandria will host local events—ranging from outdoor block parties and cookouts to lobby meet-ups and ice cream socials—to connect with neighbors and show support for a safer city. The Alexandria Police Department, along with the Alexandria Fire Department, Sheriff's Office, and City leadership, will visit registered locations throughout the evening.

Whether you live in a single-family home, apartment building, or townhouse, or are part of a civic association, HOA, or house of worship, your neighborhood is encouraged to participate.

By hosting or joining an event, residents help:

Build stronger neighbor-to-neighbor relationships
Demonstrate unity in crime prevention
Promote a culture of awareness and community care
Welcome Alexandria's first responders and City officials into the heart of our neighborhoods
