Title:VIRTUAL: COVID-19 Vaccine Panel Discussion
Date & Time:Wed Jan 27, 2021 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Location:Virtual Only Event, Meeting or Activity
Meetings, events or activities that will be held exclusively online or via telephone conference.
Event Details:The City of Alexandria will co-host a recorded panel of local medical experts, civic leaders and community leaders to answer questions about COVID-19 vaccines. A premiere of the panel discussion will be available online in English, Spanish, Amharic and Arabic.

Vaccines are one of the most powerful tools to end the pandemic. Based on groundbreaking medical research, vaccines are a safe way to protect loved ones, save lives, and avoid economically damaging lockdowns. With vaccines being developed so quickly, some members of the community are understandably concerned.

In addition to answering questions from the community, the panel will discuss COVID-19 vaccine safety and effectiveness, the role vaccines play in ending the pandemic, who is currently eligible to be vaccinated, and what to expect when vaccines are more widely available.

A collaboration between the City of Alexandria, the Alexandria Health Department, the Alexandria Human Rights Commission, the Alexandria Chapter of the NAACP, and Tenants and Workers United, this event will be the first in a series of panels addressing the impacts of the pandemic in our community.
