|Event Details:||If you enjoy working with older adults and persons with disabilities, consider volunteering as an Ombudsman. Volunteers are needed to serve as Ombudsmen in nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Alexandria. An Ombudsman does not have enforcement power, but rather acts as an advocate for residents to help them find creative solutions to problems. Volunteer Ombudsmen dedicate four (4) hours per week for one year. Visits must occur between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekdays. On-going training and support provided.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact Lisa Callahan prior to training.
