This website allows eligible City residents to obtain and print Guest and Vistor permits under the City's permit parking programs, including the Residential Parking Permit Program. A Guest or Visitor permit allows a vehicle to remain parked during the specified period in an unmetered space in a residential parking permit district that would normally be limited to two or three hours, or waives the daytime parking restrictions. Each vehicle requires a separate permit.

Residents who live in residential parking permit districts may obtain "Visitor" permits valid for longer periods of time (8-30 days) at City Hall, 301 King Street, Treasury Division, Room 1510 during regular business hours. The "Visitor" permit is valid for a maximum of 30 days. The permit is not renewable, and no more than two "Visitor" permits will be issued to the same residence at the same time. The fee for "Visitor" permits issued for more than seven enforceable days is $5.

You may also use this website to check the validity of a Guest or Visitor permit that was obtained through this system, even if you are not associated with the permit. This allows you to make sure that a permit you see in your neighborhood is being used properly.

To use this app to obtain a permit, you must have a MyAlex customer account. This account allows you to use various applications on the City"s websites, like this one, with the same login credentials. If you don't already have a MyAlex account, you will be prompted to create one.

The first time you use this website, you must also confirm that you reside in a permit district, and that there is no other restriction on your eligibility. You can confirm your eligibility in one of two ways:

  • If you already have a vehicle registered with the City for tax purposes, you can use the associated Customer number and Account number (found on your personal property tax bill) to confirm your eligibility. If you confirm your eligibility this way, you will not have to confirm it again unless you dispose of your vehicle. Your eligibilty will depend on the address your vehicle is registered to.
  • OR

  • You can confirm your eligibility in person at City Hall (301 King Street, Treasury Division, Room 1510) or at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center (West End Finance Office, 4850 Mark Center Drive, Suite 2011), and you will be given a one-time PIN to use with this app. You must present a government-issued ID card or utility bill that includes your current resident address. If you confirm your eligibility this way, you will not have to confirm it again for one year.
