 ship with The Alexandria Oral History Center\, invite you to our 2026 Ann
 ual Conference\, themed "Witnessing State Violence: Oral History and Libe
 ratory Praxis." The theme encourages attendees to think critically about 
 the role that oral history has in documenting and resisting state violenc
 e\, to include municipal\, provincial/state and federal forms of violence
  - via two key aspects of oral history practice: witnessing and power. Bo
 th national and internationally focused proposal topics are welcome\, as 
 well as viewpoints from across the ideological spectrum.\n\nUpwards of 80
  or so people usually attend the annual OHMAR conference. This year\, ses
 sions are planned to take place at the historic Lloyd House and the Alexa
 ndria History Museum at the Lyceum. \n\nOHMAR is a non profit organizatio
 n dedicated to the promotion and improvement of oral history. OHMAR suppo
 rts established and emerging oral historians in the practice of oral hist
 ory by providing information and resources\, an accessible community of e
 xpertise\, and a vibrant professional and social network. Members include
  public and academic historians\, librarians\, archivists\, teachers\, fo
