 re than a war - it was a Revolution of Ideas that continues today. From t
 he creation of the Fairfax Resolves to the hometown of George Washington\
 , Alexandria and this region played a unique role in the birth of the new
  nation. The Alexandria Forum\, in partnership with Emerging Revolutionar
 y War\, will share the history of Alexandria and Northern Virginia during
  this critical time in history\, showcasing how these moments in time rev
 erberate through today. The forum begins with coffee\, tea\, and breakfas
 t at 8:30 a.m. followed by welcome remarks. Two morning keynote addresses
  include "A Tory in Old Town\, The Revolutionary War Journal of Nicholas 
 Cresswell" by public historian Ken Bancroft and "The 25 Who Signed: Resea
 rching the Fairfax Resolves Signers" by Kerry Mitchell\, Historic Site Sp
 ecialist at Carlyle House Historic Park. After participants have lunch on
  their own in Old Town Alexandria\, four speakers will share recent resea
 rch highlights. \n\nThe final keynote will be "Prelude to Yorktown: Lafay
 ette and the 1781 Virginia Campaign" by Dr. John Maass. Education Special
 ist at the National Museum of the United States Army. \n\nThe Forum will 
 end with a reception at the museum. \n\nTickets are $60\, $40 for Office 
 of Historic Alexandria members and students at Alexandriava.gov/Shop.\n\n
