 arTest/Detail.aspx?si=57785\n\nThe Alexandria Community Remembrance Proje
ct (ACRP) will debut a documentary film titled Resolved: Never Again that
brings a fresh perspective to the history of the United States. In Reso
lved: Never Again\, filmmaker Robin Hamilton explores the port city's inv
olvement in slavery and the domestic slave trade until the Civil War\, an

Coy and Benjamin Thomas took place. The evening opens at 5:30 with a Fund
raising Reception\, the film begins at 7 p.m. followed by a panel discuss
ion that will end at 8:30 p.m. \n\nThe film also captures the impact of t
he Equal Justice Initiative's Remembrance Movement on our community from
exposing these uncomfortable truths\, to honoring the lives and deaths of
Joseph McCoy and Benjamin Thomas with historic markers\, a soil collecti
on and a pilgrimage by nearly 200 community members and high school stude
nts to Montgomery\, Ala. to deliver the sacred soil to the National Memor
ial for Peace and Justice. \n\nInterviews with Mayor Justin Wilson\, form
er Police Chief Don Hayes and Sheriff Sean Casey bring out the importance
of acknowledging and taking responsibility for the past actions and inac
tions of their counterparts as we move toward reconciling. Another featur
e of the film focuses on descendants of Joseph McCoy\, and how their fami
ly learned about their connection to this history and to Alexandria. Debr
a White\, a spokesperson for the McCoy family\, talks about joining Alexa
