 ganized firefighting in the City of Alexandria and the surrounding region
 \, the Friendship Veterans Fire Engine Association is hosting a one-day s
 ymposium on the 15th of September\, 2024. The symposium will be held at t
 he George Washington Masonic Memorial on Shooter's Hill at the top of Kin
 g Street. \n\nThe symposium will consist of three panels\, each of which 
 will have two or more presenters offering presentations of no more than t
 wenty minutes each on topics related to the history of firefighting in Al
 exandria and environs\, historical or notable emergencies to which first 
 responders were called to action\, and the evolution of best firefighting
  practices over the past 250 years. Each panel will conclude with questio
 ns and comments from the audience. \n\nThe event is open to the public wi
 thout charge. Prior registration is requested. To register\, contact Jim
