 at Torpedo Factory Art Center who have made it to Phase III. The 2022 app
 lication process is an annual competitive process to become a Resident Ar
 tist at the Art Center.  This year's applicants are scored by four highli
 ght qualified jurors.\n\nThe Phases\nPhase I considered artistic merit an
 d was judged blind\, with jurors only viewing the art. Jurors looked for 
 deliberately crafted artwork with an authentic and original point of view
  that reflects an awareness of current trends and aesthetics in the large
 r art world. It was worth a maximum 50 points. Applicants needed 33 point
 s to advance.\nPhase II was non-blind and considers applicants' backgroun
 ds. Jurors looked for artists who can explain their art and who want to e
 ngage and interact with the public through their work. They reviewed appl
 icants' career highlights and how they have marketed themselves or their 
 work. It was worth a maximum of 25 points. Applicants needed a combined 5
 0 points from Phases I and II to advance.\nPhase III gives the jurors an 
 opportunity to meet and interact with the applicants. This is the first t
 ime jurors are seeing the art work in-person to review it for quality. Ju
 rors will consider the applicants' ability to communicate about their art
 work\, with an eye toward their desire to positively engage with the publ
 ic. It is worth a maximum of 25 points. Presentations will be open to the
  public.\nThis year 50 applications moved forward to Phase III.  Presenta
 tions to jurors by applicants is open to the public.\n\nWednesday June 15
 \, 7 - 10 PM:  Presentations by 17 applicants.  Each applicant presents f
 or five minutes with ability for jurors to ask questions.  Each applicant
  shares a presentation via slide show and each artist shares two in-perso
 n artworks. Audience is not able to ask questions or make comments.\n\nSa
