 for Alexandria residents and individuals who work in the city to learn va
 rious aspects of policing.  This includes administrative philosophies\, i
 nternal policies\, and the guiding principles of law and ethical conduct 
 governing the delivery of police services. Sessions are a combination of 
 lectures and interactive activities. Class topics include patrol operatio
 ns\, gangs\, crime prevention\, crime scene investigations\, criminal inv
 estigations\, and more.\n\nRegistration closes August 31.\n\nWHEN: Classe
 s begin on Wednesday\, September 23\, 2026\, and will end with a graduati
 on ceremony on Wednesday\, November 18\, 2026.   Sessions are on Wednesda
 y evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Due to the holiday on November 11\
 , that class will be moved to Tuesday\, November 10. \n\nWHERE: Police De
 partment Headquarters at 3600 Wheeler Avenue\, Alexandria\, VA 22304 \n\n
 WHAT: The curriculum covers the core elements that are essential for part
 icipants to gain a greater understanding of police operations.  As a resu
 lt of their participation\, residents can make more informed judgments ab
 out the Alexandria Police Department and its daily operations. The Police
  Department is simultaneously able to acquire a greater understanding of 
 the views and concerns of the community through an enhanced relationship 
 with the public.\n\nThe program is offered FREE of charge.  Participants 
 must be at least 21 years of age and live or work in the City of Alexandr
 ia. Criminal history checks will be conducted on all applicants for final
