 ley-Lavender author of The Librarian Who Didn't Like Books. A moderated d
 iscussion\, brief book reading and book signing will begin at 11 a.m. and
  conclude at 12:30pm. The discussion and book reading are geared toward c
 hildren ages 2-10. This event is a free and open to the public.\n\nHolly 
 Ousley-Lavender is a school librarian with 30 years' experience. Ousley-L
 avender was as a young child who dreaded reading and going to the library
 -until one day she saw a book with characters that looked like her. She w
 as then able to make a connection that ignited her love of reading and sh
 aring that love with children. Holly Ousley-Lavender states that her miss
 ion is to ensure that all children find a mirror image of themselves in b
 ooks and experience the joy and empowerment that representation brings th
 rough the books that she writes.\n\nPatrons attending the Meet and Greet 
 will have a chance to preview the Alexandria Black History Museum.\n\nThe
  Meet and Greet and Book signing will be held at the Alexandria Black His
 tory Museum\, located at 902 Wythe Street\, Alexandria\, Virginia 22314.
