 elebrate building safety\, recognize the code professionals who help keep
  us safe\, and receive free training at the City's annual Building Safety
  Month Virtual Kick-Off event on May 14\, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year
 's theme is "Prevent\, Prepare\, Protect."\n\nThe free event will include
  "2018 International Energy Conservation Code - Residential Provisions Si
 mplified\," a training presented by Shaunna Monzingo\, International Code
  Council instructor. This training is primarily intended for building pro
 fessionals interested in learning about the 2018 IECC Code design require
 ments once it is adopted by the Virginia General Assembly in July. Code c
 ycles take three years to develop before the General Assembly adopts them
  into the Uniform Statewide Building Code. Architects\, developers\, code
  administration plan reviewers and municipal and private inspectors are e
 ncouraged to participate.\n\nParticipants who complete the training will 
 receive .6 hours of continuing education credit. Registration is required
