 ary of D-Day with a large commemorative event. Celebrate American and Fre
 nch cultures\, and U.S. military history\, with this fun event for the wh
 ole family. The event will feature children's activities\, WWII reenactor
 s\, live music\, food\, and a wine garden!\n\nThis year marks the 75th an
 niversary of D-Day. On June 6\, 1944\, more than 160\,000 Allied troops i
 nvaded Normandy\, France and gained a significant foothold in continental
  Europe. While more than 9\,000 Allied soldiers were lost during the inva
 sion\, it directly led to their decisive victory over Hitler and the Axis
  Powers. \n\nThe event is free and open to the public. Food and beverages
  will be available for purchase in the French market and wine garden. Win
 e and Design will be hosting a paint-and-sip station at select times duri
 ng the festivities\, with advance ticket purchase available at https://wi
 neanddesign.com/calendars/alexandria. There will be history booths\, chil
 dren's activities\, live swing music and dancers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.\n
