 ount Vernon with a viewing of their new exhibition\, Lives Bound Together
 \, on slavery at George Washington's plantation. This tour will be conduc
 ted by the exhibit curators. Afterwards\, visitors will walk to Mount Ver
 non's Slave Cemetery for a site talk by archeologists. Following lunch\, 
 guests will board a bus to visit Gum Springs\, a historic African America
 n community\, and then on to Alexandria's Contrabands and Freedmen Cemete
 ry Memorial\, the burial ground for over 1\,700 contrabands (escaped slav
 es). The tour will conclude at Mount Vernon at 4 p.m. The tour will go ra
 in or shine and has extended periods of walking over uneven terrain. Shut
 tle transport around Mount Vernon is available for those with mobility co
 ncerns. Box lunch and bus transport is included in the ticket price. Addi
