Popular Simon and Schuster author Sheila Moses will conduct a workshop for those interested in writing for the young adult market. You will learn how to tell a good story, what a publisher looks for in a new author and how to make your story ideas a reality. This workshop is limited to 20 people. A continental breakfast and snacks will be provided. Please bring your own lunch.

The workshop runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA. Reservations are required, and the $75 registration fee must be paid online by April 1.

Shelia P. Moses was raised in Rich Square, North Carolina. She is the award-winning author of several books for teens and young readers: The Legend of Buddy Bush; The Return of Buddy Bush; I, Dred Scott: A Fictional Slave Narrative Based on the Life and Legal Precedent of Dred Scott; and The Baptism. Moses is the co-author of Dick Gregory's memoir, Callus on My Soul. She is also pleased to announce the publication of her new book, A Price Was Paid, The History of W.S. Creecy School, which is also the subject of an upcoming documentary with the same title. Shelia Moses currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia.
