I think the other comments are correct in saying that this thing has been canceled. A Mayor election is coming up and the primaries are happening soon, time to vote Euillle out people. It really bothers me to see that all the money I spend on taxes are going towards the more affluent Old Town, just drive on Duke going east and you will see all the high-rises that are sprouting. George would be disgraced of what the city that he founded has become on the West Side.

Some of these comments are ridiculous. Within five miles you can find homes worth more than 750k, so there are definitely folks in that area that can and will go to the stores and theater once built. About the poorer folks, every urbanized area has parts that are zoned for those demographics. Even old town Alexandria and the nicest parts in Arlington has poor zones. How about Brooklyn NY? the Bronx? i can go in and on about examples where there are areas not so desirable them they build something like this and the whole area just goes up from there. My only hope is when the project is finished they will have lots of green space/parks.
