Keep Founders' Park AS IS & Compromise with Boat Club

I urge the city to compromise with ODBC. I don't think the city's position and ODBC's position is far enough apart to warrant eminent domain action.

For Founders Park, I urge design to have a very light touch. I have specific concerns with what I understand to be some elements under consideration:

ELEMENT: The shoreline will be naturalized.

ISSUE: WILL A NATURAL SHORELINE BE A LITTER MAINTENANCE ISSUE? I SEE SLOPING DIRT / MUD SHORELINE WITH GRASS, AND THIS TERRAIN WOULD NOT OFFER EASY ACCESS FOR NEEDED CLEAN UP AFTER A STORM, OR EVEN AFTER A DAY OR SO OF WINDS FROM THE EAST. FPCA DOES MONTHLY CLEAN-UPS TO MAINTAIN THE ROCKY SHORELINE- A NATURAL SHORELINE, WHILE PLEASANT, MAY TRAP LITTER.

ELEMENT: A site for "historical performances" is proposed

ISSUE: I DON'T SEE THIS AS CONSISTENT WITH FOUNDERS PARK PRIMARY ROLE AS A PASSIVE FAMILY FRIENDLY PARK. EVENTS OF ALL SIZES SHOULD BE AT ORONOCO BAY PARK.

ELEMENT: Art works proposed thru out park.

ISSUE: SEEKING TO ADD WORKS OF MAN (ART) IN A NATURAL REFUGE, WITHIN A MAN-MADE CITY, STRIKES ME AS INCONGRUOUS.

thanks
