I didn't grow up in Alexandria but I find it laughable that in a budget of over $600 million dollars we have no real city pool system for our kids. Growing up at the neighborhood was a rite of passage for me, my family and friends and it was all provided with a small fee by a small town with a budget that is like a quarter of Alexandria.
Shuttering another pool to save a rounding error seems like a misguided way to save money and I would prefer to see our city's recreational pools strenghtened instead of weakened.
A small concern but a concern nonetheless.
