DESCRIPTION:VIRTUAL - Del Ray Gateway Project/Colasanto Spray Park Design C
 ommunity Meeting\n\nThe City of Alexandria Department of Recreation\, Park
 s and Cultural Activities will redesign the existing Colasanto Pool\, clos
 ed since 2010\, at 2700 Mount Vernon Avenue. The City has selected and hir
 ed a design team led by LSG Landscape Architecture through a procurement p
 rocess\, which concluded at the end of 2020. \n\nLSG will build on the rec
 ommendations from The Del Ray Gateway Project community survey started in 
 2016 and the City's 2012 Aquatic Facilities Study. The 2012 study recommen
 ded that the old pool be converted into a spray park. The design project w
 ill focus on the redesign of the current pool. Future projects will design
  and construct other components of the Del Ray Gateway Project site includ
 ing The Nancy Dunning Memorial Garden.\n\nThe improvements will be designe
 d and built through the City of Alexandria's Capital Improvement Program a
 nd a Community Matching Fund partnership with The Del Ray Gateway Project.
 \n\nThe City invites the community to provide input on the project through
  a virtual meeting on Thursday\, March 4\, from 7-8:30 p.m
