 ry War. Initially\, Washington welcomed news of the French Revolution as t
 he natural successor to the American Declaration of Independence. But as t
 he French Revolution devolved into widespread violence\, Washington sought
  to distance himself from his former ally. Dr. Chervinsky will reveal how 
 France\, and the complex details of the Franco-American alliance\, shaped 
 Washington's presidency and dominated the 1790s.  \nTickets for the virtua
