DESCRIPTION:The City of Alexandria invites the community to celebrate Alexa
 ndria's 271st and the USA's 244th birthday in the safety and comfort of ho
 me\, with virtual performances and a community singalong. To comply with V
 irginia's Safer at Home Phase Three guidelines\, this year's celebration w
 ill take place online with virtual performances\, including a citywide sin
 g-along. Enjoy music from the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra and the Navy C
 ommodores\, and a stirring poem written for the occasion by Alexandria Poe
 t Laureate KaNikki Jakarta. Everyone is invited to join in the celebration
  and stand at porches\, stoops\, balconies or windows to sing "Happy Birth
 day" to Alexandria together at 7 p.m. Local singer and songwriter Lea will
  lead the song via a live stream\, also featuring performances in some of 
 her favorite places around Alexandria.
