 d positioned in the southwest corner of the building's lobby\, Tunnel Vis
 ion can be experienced from the lobby\, the street\, and the adjacent pla
 za. From each of these viewpoints\, the artwork alludes to the Metro stat
 ions in dramatically different ways: from the side as a convex object tha
 t loosely evokes the coffered stations and Metro's gridded logo\, and fro
 m below as a concave volume making the station clearly visible and emphas
 izing its dramatic one-point perspective.\n\nThe event is jointly hosted 
 by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA)'s Art in Tr

  Drop in and meet CHALK R!OT - the artists selected to create a new stree
 t mural in Warwick Village on Wednesday\, August 28 from 6-7:30pm at Moun
 t Vernon Recreation Center (2701 Commonwealth Avenue\, Alexandria\, VA 22
 305).\n\nThe City of Alexandria's Public Art Program is coordinating the 
 planning and implementation of public art to support the City's Vision Ze
 ro initiative which works to eliminate fatal and severe traffic injuries 
 in Alexandria. A recent study by Bloomberg Philanthropies found that city
  streets became considerably safer for pedestrians after incorporating ar
 t into roadway designs.\n\nAs part of the Vision Zero initiative in Warwi
 ck Village\, CHALK R!OT will work with the community to create a colorful
  street mural at the intersection of Hickory Street and Kennedy Street.\n

 xandria?s Public Art Program is coordinating the planning and implementat
 ion of public art to support the City?s Vision Zero initiative which work
 s to eliminate fatal and severe traffic injuries in Alexandria. A recent 
 study by Bloomberg Philanthropies found that city streets became consider
 ably safer for pedestrians after incorporating art into roadway designs.\
 n<br />\n<br />As part of the Vision Zero initiative in Warwick Village\,
  CHALK R!OT will work with the community to create a colorful street mura
 l at the intersection of Hickory Street and Kennedy Street.\n<br />\n<br
