 the excitement as the City of Alexandria kicks off its 275th Anniversary c
 elebration! Mayor Justin Wilson will lead the festivities with an official
  proclamation and a performance from the City of Alexandria Pipes and Drum
 s. Visitors can also explore historical exhibits\, enjoy music from the Co
 mmunity Little Big Band\, and attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the "Bu
 ried Ships of Robinson Landing" exhibit. Additionally\, join Mayor Wilson 
 and City Council at Windmill Hill Park for the dedication of the first of 
 275 trees to be planted across the city. \n\nThe kick-off event will be he

 .\n\nThe speaker for this year's Days of Remembrance will be Dr. Alfred M?
 nzer\, a a recently retired physician specializing in diseases of the lung
  who was Director of the Pulmonary Medicine Department at Washington Adven
 tist Hospital in Takoma Park.\n\nDuring the ceremony\, Mayor Justin Wilson
  and members of City Council will light a candelabrum that the late Holoca
 ust survivor Charlene Schiff and her husband\, Ed\, donated to the City. T
 he 54-inch high\, solid brass candelabrum was donated in memory of Charlen
 e Schiff's parents and sister\, and the six million Jews and millions of o
 thers who perished in the Holocaust. The Schiff candelabrum is also made a
 vailable to schools and civic groups studying the Holocaust.\n\nThe U.S. H
 olocaust Memorial Museum leads the nation in the weeklong Days of Remembra
 nce commemoration\, in accordance with Congressional mandate.\n\nInformati
 on on antisemitism and hate crimes in the U.S. can be found on the website
 s of the Southern Poverty Law Center (www.splcenter.org) and the ADL (www.
