 elect Saturdays and take place at 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. at the Durant Cen
 ter\, 1605 Cameron St.\, Alexandria\, VA. \n\nNovember 16: Silly Goose and
  Val perform "All Things Fall"\nVal's award-winning and participatory perf
 ormance features 40 minutes of music\, puppets\, ventriloquism\, dancing\,
  singing to delight audiences of all ages. With bold voice talents and con
 tagious dances\, little ones get up\, move\, and laugh together.\n\nVentri
 loquist\, musician\, composer\, and performer Valerie Leonhart Smalkin has
  performed across America as well as in France and Belgium. She was one of
  the writers\, performers\, and co-producers as well as the head puppeteer
  of the Emmy-Award winning It's Kindertime on Baltimore's WMAR-TV. Her thr
 ee albums-A Gentle Halloween\, Sing! Sing! Sing!... and Dance!\, and Love 
 Bug!-all received Parents' Choice awards. Her book\, Springtime Dance\, ea
 rned gold in the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards in 2014. She has earned s
 everal grants from the Maryland State Arts Council as a solo performer and
  actively performs and composes music for ages 2 through 10.  \n\nThe Pupp
 et Shows at the Durant Center are part of the family-friendly programs of 
 the Office of the Arts\, a division of the Alexandria Department of Recrea

  The building turns 100 and the Art Center is 45. \n\nMikaela Lefrak\, WAM

 d sounds of Good Shot Judy. Alexandria's own Istrico Productions premieres
  the documentary they've created about the Art Center's long and storied h

 ts will return for the festivities as Target Gallery opens 45: An Annivers
 ary Exhibition\, featuring artwork by some of the original artists of the
