 r and civilian life during the Civil War\, and enjoy a regimental band con
 cert\, at Fort Ward Museum's annual Civil War Camp Day on Saturday\, June 
 18\, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Suggested donation is $2 per person\, and $5 
 for families.  The event is weather dependent.\n\nThe annual living histor
 y event features military and civilian reenactors in camp settings in and 
 around the historic fort.  The program includes camp life activities\, inf
 antry and artillery drills and firing demonstrations\, equipment displays\
 , and civilian impressions.  Among the living history units participating 
 are the 28th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry\, Co. B\, and reenactors fro
 m Thompson's Battery\, Pennsylvania Volunteer Light Artillery.  Special in
 terpretations include a U.S. Army Quartermaster tent\, a Union company sur
 geon\, a Northern schoolmarm who interprets 19th-century education and pas
 times for children\, a display of Civil War camp dioramas\, and a soldier 
 in the reconstructed Officers' Hut portraying the daily routine and living
  quarters of an officer in the Defenses of Washington.  At 3 p.m.\, the 8t
 h Green Machine Regiment Band will perform a concert of Civil War music on
  the Museum lawn.  This historical brass ensemble\, sponsored by George Ma
 son University\, presents music of the 19th century on authentic period in

  applicants for studios at Torpedo Factory Art Center who have made it to 
 Phase III. The 2022 application process is an annual competitive process t
 o become a Resident Artist at the Art Center.  This year's applicants are 
 scored by four highlight qualified jurors.\n\nThe Phases\nPhase I consider
 ed artistic merit and was judged blind\, with jurors only viewing the art.
  Jurors looked for deliberately crafted artwork with an authentic and orig
 inal point of view that reflects an awareness of current trends and aesthe
 tics in the larger art world. It was worth a maximum 50 points. Applicants
  needed 33 points to advance.\nPhase II was non-blind and considers applic
 ants' backgrounds. Jurors looked for artists who can explain their art and
  who want to engage and interact with the public through their work. They 
 reviewed applicants' career highlights and how they have marketed themselv
 es or their work. It was worth a maximum of 25 points. Applicants needed a
  combined 50 points from Phases I and II to advance.\nPhase III gives the 
 jurors an opportunity to meet and interact with the applicants. This is th
 e first time jurors are seeing the art work in-person to review it for qua
 lity. Jurors will consider the applicants' ability to communicate about th
 eir artwork\, with an eye toward their desire to positively engage with th
 e public. It is worth a maximum of 25 points. Presentations will be open t
 o the public.\nThis year 50 applications moved forward to Phase III.  Pres
 entations to jurors by applicants is open to the public.\n\nWednesday June
  15\, 7 - 10 PM:  Presentations by 17 applicants.  Each applicant presents
  for five minutes with ability for jurors to ask questions.  Each applican
 t shares a presentation via slide show and each artist shares two in-perso
 n artworks. Audience is not able to ask questions or make comments.\n\nSat
 urday June 18 10:30 AM - 4:30 PM: Presentations by 33 applicants.  Each ap
 plicant presents for five minutes with ability for jurors to ask questions
 .  Each applicant shares a presentation via slide show and each artist sha
 res two in-person artworks. Audience is not able to ask questions or make
