 cy's National Drug Take Back Day\, the Alexandria Police Department\, Alex
 andria Sheriff's Office\, and Alexandria Health Department\, with cooperat
 ion from the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria\, are staf
 fing multiple drop-off locations for safe medication disposal.\n\nDrop off
  unused or expired medication at the Alexandria Police Department Headquar
 ters from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. No needles are accepted at this site.\n\n

 ny Americans do not know how to properly dispose of unused medication\, of
 ten flushing it down the toilet or throwing it away - both potential safet
 y and health hazards.\n\nDrug take back days and permanent drop boxes also
  support the goals of the Eco-City Alexandria initiative to promote a plac
 e where people can live healthier and economically productive lives\, whil
