 il collection ceremony to recognize the lives and lynchings of Joseph McCo
 y and Benjamin Thomas. The Soil Collection ceremony honors the lives and d
 eaths of McCoy and Thomas and features placing soil into jars that will be
  given to the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI). Community members will be we
 lcome to take part in the soil ceremony\, drawing soil from two wooden ves
 sels designed and built by 8th grade students at Jefferson-Houston IB Scho
 ol. The soil jars will be taken by the community to Montgomery\, Alabama a
 nd the National Memorial for Peace and Justice as part of the ACRP pilgrim
