 essionals who help keep us safe\, and receive free training at the City's 
 annual Building Safety Month Virtual Kick-Off event on May 14\, from 9 a.m
 . to 4 p.m. This year's theme is "Prevent\, Prepare\, Protect."\n\nThe fre
 e event will include "2018 International Energy Conservation Code - Reside
 ntial Provisions Simplified\," a training presented by Shaunna Monzingo\, 
 International Code Council instructor. This training is primarily intended
  for building professionals interested in learning about the 2018 IECC Cod
 e design requirements once it is adopted by the Virginia General Assembly 
 in July. Code cycles take three years to develop before the General Assemb
 ly adopts them into the Uniform Statewide Building Code. Architects\, deve
 lopers\, code administration plan reviewers and municipal and private insp
 ectors are encouraged to participate.\n\nParticipants who complete the tra
 ining will receive .6 hours of continuing education credit. Registration i
