 rchers\, formally The Soul Searchers\, and Chuck Brown and The Soul Search
 ers\, was founded in Washington\, D.C. in the late 1960's by Chuck Brown. 
 The New Soul Searchers has been credited with founding the musical genre "
 Go Go." \n\nThe band released its first album titled "We the People\," in 
 1972\, which contained the hit "We the People." The second album\, "Salt o
 f the Earth\," was released in 1974. It contained the hit "Blow Your Whist
 le\," which was sampled by Grammy Award winner Eve\, in her 2007 hit "Tamb
 ourine." Also\, on that album is on of one the most sampled drum break bea
 ts of all time from "Ashley's Roach Clip\," used by Milli Vanilli\, Eric B
  and Rakim\, LL Cool J\, and many others. In 1978\, the band changed its n
 ame to Chuck Brown and The Soul Searchers with the release of its third al
 bum "Bustin' Loose\," which went on to spend four weeks at # 1 on the R & 
 B Billboard singles chart in early 1979 and peaked at # 34 on the Billboar
 d Hot 100 singles chart. Hip Hop artist Nelly sampled "Bustin' Loose" for 
 his big hit "Hot in Here". "Bustin' Loose" has been played after every hom
 e run the Washington Nationals hit at Nationals Park since that stadium's 
 opening in 2008. The band is now led by one of its original members\, Dona
 ld Tillery.\n\nPart of the Office of the Arts's Arts at Home series suppor
