DESCRIPTION:The City of Alexandria will co-host a recorded panel of local m
 edical experts\, civic leaders and community leaders to answer questions a
 bout COVID-19 vaccines. A premiere of the panel discussion will be availab
 le online in English\, Spanish\, Amharic and Arabic. \n\nVaccines are one 
 of the most powerful tools to end the pandemic. Based on groundbreaking me
 dical research\, vaccines are a safe way to protect loved ones\, save live
 s\, and avoid economically damaging lockdowns. With vaccines being develop
 ed so quickly\, some members of the community are understandably concerned
 . \n\nIn addition to answering questions from the community\, the panel wi
 ll discuss COVID-19 vaccine safety and effectiveness\, the role vaccines p
 lay in ending the pandemic\, who is currently eligible to be vaccinated\, 
 and what to expect when vaccines are more widely available. \n\nA collabor
 ation between the City of Alexandria\, the Alexandria Health Department\, 
 the Alexandria Human Rights Commission\, the Alexandria Chapter of the NAA
 CP\, and Tenants and Workers United\, this event will be the first in a se
 ries of panels addressing the impacts of the pandemic in our community.\n\
