 va Jolt lecture in honor of Paula Whitacre's new book\, A Civil Life in an
  Uncivil Time: Julia Wilbur's Struggle for Purpose. Whitacre will discuss 
 the monumental task by Alexandria Archaeology volunteers of transcribing m
 ore than 1\,800 pages of the abolitionist's diaries\, the compelling stori
 es of 19th century Alexandria that were revealed\, and how she based her b
 iography of Wilbur on the diaries and other primary sources. A book signin
 g will follow the lecture. This event is free and open to the public. 10 a
