 ford\, Professor Emeritus from the University of Mary Washington's Histori
 c Preservation Department. Through his extensive research across Virginia\
 , Dr. Sanford will share the narrative of urban slavery found through hist
 oric documents\, surviving buildings\, and more\, focusing on 1800 - 1860\
 , and how this research can be applied to Alexandria. \n\nThis lecture is 
 held in honor of Anna Lynch\, long-time Alexandria Archaeology volunteer a
 nd researcher\, who filled an important gap in our knowledge of a vital pa
