Exper ience the sounds of Gospel and Barbershop music while celebrating their ri ch genres. The Grammy Award-winning "Fairfield Four" will headline the two days and will be singing in the traditional African American a cappella g ospel style they have been known for since the group's inception almost 10 0 years ago. \n\nEmcees\, the Honorable John Chapman\, Councilman\, City of Alexandria and owner Manumission Tour Company\, LLC (Friday) and Joe Ce rutti\, Artistic Director\, Alexandria Harmonizers (Saturday)\, will guide the audience through the history of Gospel and Barbershop music through t he ages with historical tidbits and insights. Songs for Music through the Ages will showcase a variety of Gospel and Barbershop music styles. Parti cipating choirs include: the Alexandria Harmonizers\, Alfred Street Baptis t Church's Men's Choir\, City of Alexandria Employee Choir\, George Washin gton Middle School\, Jefferson Houston School\, My Father's House Christia n Church\, Shiloh Baptist Church\, and Third Baptist Church. \n\nThe Music through the Ages is partnering with ALIVE!\, and Hunger Free Alexandria t o host a community food drive. Bring a nonperishable food item to the con cert and help the hungry in Alexandria's community.
