 ill be collecting unwanted medications at their headquarters at 3600 Wheel
 er Avenue.\n\nDrop off potentially dangerous expired\, unused and unwanted
  prescription drugs and other medications for safe disposal and destructio
 n. These drugs can be a source of supply for illegal use and an unacceptab
 le risk to public health and safety. \n\nThis initiative addresses a vital
  public safety and public health issue. Many Americans are not aware that 
 medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversi
 on\, misuse and abuse. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription
  drugs are obtained from family and friends\, including from the home medi
 cine cabinet. In addition\, many Americans do not know how to properly dis
 pose of their unused medicine\, often flushing them down the toilet or thr
 owing them away - both potential safety and health hazards. \n\nThis progr
 am also supports the goals of the Eco-City Alexandria initiative to promot
 e a place where people can live healthier and economically productive live
