 nter celebrates two major milestones in 2019 with an Anniversary Ball. The
  building turns 100 and the Art Center is 45. \n\nMikaela Lefrak\, WAMU ar
 ts and culture reporter\, leads a lively evening of art\, music\, dancing\
 , film\, performance and memories. The party will swing to the big-band so
 unds of Good Shot Judy. Alexandria's own Istrico Productions premieres the
  documentary they've created about the Art Center's long and storied histo
 ry\, stretching back to 1919. \n\nMany of the Art Center's first artists w
 ill return for the festivities as Target Gallery opens 45: An Anniversary 
 Exhibition\, featuring artwork by some of the original artists of the Torp
 edo Factory Art Center. \n\nOther highlights include: \n?  Anniversary pri
 ntmaking and demos with Patrick Sargent\n?  Video projections by Monica St
 roik\n?  Glass harpist Jamey Turner welcoming guests at the start of the e

 ier of four Bullying Awareness videos put together by the Alexandria City 
 High School TV Production Club from the spring and summer of 2022. \n\nThe
  club was contracted by the Mayor's Campaign to End Bullying Committee to 
 discuss four major bullying topics with youth\, teens\, adults and seniors
  in Alexandria. \n\nTopics of each the four videos are:  Preventing Bullyi
 ng In My School\, Preventing Bullying In My Community\, Stand Up To Bullyi
 ng & Kindness To All.  Following the premier of the videos a discussion on
  them will be lead by members of the Mayor's Campaign to End Bullying Comm
 ittee who will be giving youth the opportunities to discuss the videos con

  Black community is barely visible to the modern-day visitor. Fort Reno wa
 s a bustling neighborhood in which men\, women\, and children lived\, died
 \, loved\, worked\, worshipped\, and played. Brian Taylor (author of Fight
 ing for Citizenship [UNC Press\, 2020])\, Miriam Gusevich (Catholic Univer
 sity) and Martin Paddack (Howard University) will share their work on the 
 history of the Fort Reno neighborhood and their efforts to bring this hist
 ory to the public. It builds on Brian Taylor's "On the Fort": The Fort Ren
 o Community of Washington\, D.C.\, 1861-1951\, the official National Park 
 Service Report and benefits from Gusevich's expertise in urban design and
