 al - is moving to a new date in 2022. The City of Alexandria's Office of t
 he Arts is joining forces with Visit Alexandria to expand the Portside in 
 Old Town Summer Festival to two days\, June 17 and 18\, 2022. \n\nThe 44th
  Annual Alexandria Jazz Fest will open the weekend festivities at Waterfro
 nt Park on Friday\, June 17\, from 6 to 9 p.m. with three renowned perform
 ance groups accented by readings from some of Alexandria's poets between s

 t on Monday\, June 20 at 6 p.m.at the Shiloh Baptist Worship Center (1401 
 Jamieson Avenue). As part of the City's Juneteenth events\, the grand open
 ing marks the notable story and transition for this National Historic Land
 mark in Alexandria on the national stage. All are welcome.\nVirginia State
  Delegate Delores McQuinn (70th District - Richmond)\, a critical leader f
 or the Commonwealth's African American initiatives\, will provide the keyn
 ote address. Additionally\, the program will feature remarks by Mayor Just
 in Wilson\, Alexandria Black History Museum Director Audrey Davis\, Former
  Alexandria City Manager Mark Jinks\, Northern Virginia Urban League Board
  Chair Letty Maxwell\, and City Poet Laureate Zeina Azzam. The Museum will
  have extended hours on June 20\, open from 1 - 5:30 p.m.\n\nTo the end th
 e event\, a powerful recitation of the earliest list of men\, women\, and 
 children trafficked from Alexandria to New Orleans associated with 1315 Du
 ke Street in 1828 will be lifted up. \nThe Freedom House Museum will also 
 have extended hours on June 20\, open from 1-5:30 p.m. The museum is regul
 arly open to the public Thursday and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.\, Satu
 rdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.\, and Sundays and Mondays from 1 to 5 p.m. Ad
 mission is $5 per adult\, $3 per child ages 5-12\, and free for City of Al

 King St.\n\nThe speaker for this year's Days of Remembrance will be Robbie
  Schaefer\, a musician\, songwriter\, and theatre\nartist devoted to servi
 ce through the arts. He is the son of a Holocaust survivor. The guitarist 
 and songwriter for the indie folk band Eddie From Ohio has also recorded s
 everal solo albums\, including 2017's Sounds Like Home: Songs\nFrom the Mu
 sical\, Light Years.\n\nDuring the ceremony\, Mayor Justin Wilson and memb
 ers of City Council will light a candelabrum that the late Holocaust survi
 vor Charlene Schiff and her husband\, Ed\, donated to the city. The 54-inc
 h high\, solid brass candelabrum was donated in memory of Charlene Schiff'
 s parents and sister\, and the six million Jews and millions of others who
  perished in the Holocaust. The Schiff candelabrum is also made available 
 to schools and civic groups studying the Holocaust.\n\nThe U.S. Holocaust 
 Memorial Museum leads the nation in the weeklong Days of Remembrance comme
 moration\, in accordance with Congressional mandate.\n\nInformation on ant

  was Director of the Pulmonary Medicine Department at Washington Adventist

  members of City Council will light a candelabrum that the late Holocaust 
 survivor Charlene Schiff and her husband\, Ed\, donated to the City. The 5
 4-inch high\, solid brass candelabrum was donated in memory of Charlene Sc
 hiff's parents and sister\, and the six million Jews and millions of other
 s who perished in the Holocaust. The Schiff candelabrum is also made avail
 able to schools and civic groups studying the Holocaust.\n\nThe U.S. Holoc
 aust Memorial Museum leads the nation in the weeklong Days of Remembrance 
 commemoration\, in accordance with Congressional mandate.\n\nInformation o
