 d civilian impressions.  Among the living history units participating are 
 the 28th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry\, Co. B\, and reenactors from Th
 ompson's Battery\, Pennsylvania Volunteer Light Artillery.  Special interp
 retations include a U.S. Army Quartermaster tent\, a Union company surgeon
 \, a Northern schoolmarm who interprets 19th-century education and pastime
 s for children\, a display of Civil War camp dioramas\, and a soldier in t
 he reconstructed Officers' Hut portraying the daily routine and living qua
 rters of an officer in the Defenses of Washington.  At 3 p.m.\, the 8th Gr
 een Machine Regiment Band will perform a concert of Civil War music on the
  Museum lawn.  This historical brass ensemble\, sponsored by George Mason 
 University\, presents music of the 19th century on authentic period instru

  community informational meeting about the installation of permanent fenci
 ng around the Fort community burial sites and cemeteries located in Fort W
 ard Park. During the meeting staff will review the scope of work to be per
 formed\, including the selected fencing style\, and the layout of fencing 
 that will be used to demarcate the Old Grave Yard\, the Adams burial plot\
 , the Clark burial site\, and the Jackson Cemetery. The meeting will conve
 ne at the Museum parking lot for a walk to each of the four burial sites. 
 The Beitzell Fence Company\, based in Gainesville\, Virginia\, was awarded
  the project. Installation is scheduled to take place the last week of Sep
 tember. Staff from the Office of Historic Alexandria\, including a City ar

 heme of women who disguised themselves as soldiers during the war and will
  address the challenges experienced by the hundreds of women who served in
  the army. Learn how women and girls supported the war effort through indu
 stry and craft\, and pursued new work roles\, from the home and farm to th
 e city and factory. Displays include 19th-century tableware\, and a hands-
 on opportunity to learn about the everyday clothing of women and girls. Th
