DESCRIPTION:The City of Alexandria invites the community to celebrate Alex
 andria's 271st and the USA's 244th birthday in the safety and comfort of 
 home\, with virtual performances and a community singalong. To comply wit
 h Virginia's Safer at Home Phase Three guidelines\, this year's celebrati
 on will take place online with virtual performances\, including a citywid
 e sing-along. Enjoy music from the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra and the 
 Navy Commodores\, and a stirring poem written for the occasion by Alexand
 ria Poet Laureate KaNikki Jakarta. Everyone is invited to join in the cel
 ebration and stand at porches\, stoops\, balconies or windows to sing "Ha
 ppy Birthday" to Alexandria together at 7 p.m. Local singer and songwrite
 r Lea will lead the song via a live stream\, also featuring performances 
 in some of her favorite places around Alexandria.
