DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the Task Force is to receive briefings on the s
 tatus of gang suppression\, prevention and intervention programs and acti
 vities in the City\; assist in informing and educating the Alexandria com
 munity about the gang suppression\, prevention and intervention programs 
 and activities\; assist in identifying programs and activities that will 
 address specific gang-related problems or issues in the City\; assist in 
 identifying opportunities to obtain funding for programs and activities t
 hat will address such gang-related problems or issues\; and\, assist in i
 dentifying state or local laws that should be enacted or amended to enabl
 e the City\, and possibly other local governments\, to better address pro
 blems and issues arising from or related to gangs.
