  with individuals in need--an opportunity that many find extremely fulfil
 ling.  Volunteers must attend all volunteer trainings and on the job trai
 ning.  They must adhere to common professional standards regarding client
  privacy and confidentiality\, develop ability to remain calm during a cr
 isis and provide emotional support\, information and referrals to victims
 .  You must be able to demonstrate the ability to screen clients over the
  phone to determine their appropriateness for shelter and provide advocac
 y and information by telephone to court clients who have been referred to
  the Domestic Violence Program.  You must be available to provide service
 s to the DVP 12 hours per month through shelter coverage on overnight and
  day shifts during weekends and holidays for a period of at least 1 year 
 and be committed to the program\, conscientious about covering shifts\, a
 nd find a replacement when unable to be on duty for emergency reasons.  D
 iscuss with the DVP Volunteer Coordinator any changes in commitment or ab
 ility to work regularly scheduled shifts.  If you are interested in being
  a volunteer you must contact Jen Clayton for an interview.  The training
 s begin on September 10th.  The location of the trainings will be given t
